Painting flowers, landscapes and trees were favorite motives in the early days of my painting career. The seven years of learning about painting taught me, among other things, how to create a picture from pure fantasy, not to give up and be patient. Practice and experience develope a sensitivity to colour and form. Being an artist means experimenting and persisting in the endeavours until a certain satisfaction with the result has been acheived.
My pictures show that mainly Nature but also the Islam Culture are sources of inspiration due to holidays in Morocco, a land imbued with fragrances, charm and hospitality. The scent of mint, cinnemon, coriander and safran mingle with warmth and light. Mosiacs, pots, moshees, souks and calligraphy are attractive motives to draw and paint, my preferred mediums being acrylic paint and soft pastels.
